The colours shown should be taken as indicative. They are as close as photographic processing and computer monitors allow. Decisions on colour should be made from actual product. Tonal variation
Colour tonal and shade variations are an expected part of all natural stone and man-made pavers including Stone Directions concrete pavers. These subtle colour variations between pavers add interest and life to a finished pavement.
There can be small variations from paver to paver, batch to batch and therefore from samples to pavers. Because of water absorption and concrete curing pavers can sometimes lighten a little over time and darker markings may occur. Stone Directions pavers are coloured with UV resistant inorganic oxides which don’t fade in the harsh Australian sun. The oxide colouring is mixed throughout the entire body of the paver and is not just on the surface so the colour can’t just wash or wear off. There can be some softening of the concrete colour over time due to the effects of efflorescence (see efflorescence section for more details). Classic Colour Co-ordinates
The Classic Colour Co-ordinates are a range of 9 contemporary colours for each of the 3 surface finishes – Pavilion, Artisano and Helidon. Mix and match your colours The Pavilion colour range has been carefully designed as a co-ordinated colour palette with three groups of contemporary colours – purples, greys and browns. There is good compatibility amongst the colours in each group as well as between the colours in different groups.
Because the colours in each group are graduations of the same colour you can make your bi-tonal paving project either subtle or striking. The stronger colours are normally used as accents and trim but they can also be used as the body paver.
